Host of World Economic Forum: "Capitalism in its current form, has no place in the world around us."

Davos elites to seek reforms of 'outdated' capitalism.
"We have a general morality gap, we are over-leveraged, we have neglected to invest in the future, we have undermined social coherence, and we are in danger of completely losing the confidence of future generations," said Klaus Schwab, host and founder of the annual World Economic Forum.

"Solving problems in the context of outdated and crumbling models will only dig us deeper into the hole.  "We are in an era of profound change that urgently requires new ways of thinking instead of more business-as-usual," the 73-year-old said, adding that "capitalism in its current form, has no place in the world around us."

  1. The problem is statism (that is, violence), not capitalism.

  2. People make the same mistake over and over. Capitalism doesn't exist in many forms as in "current form". The only thing capitalism is, is allowing people to own property and the banning of initiation of force; thus, there is not a single society in the world that can be called capitalist.

The 73 year old Klaus Schwab probably has alzheimers, because what he is talking about is called CORPORATISM.

  3. Unfortunately, while Schwab himself is a reasonable and well-thought man, the elites (read: 1%) he must bring to the table have little interest in anything other than gaming any system put into place for their own power and profit. That's just how they are.

Has anyone noticed that the hacktivism of Anonymous (et alia) is having the classically-defined result of all effective revolutionary activity? You attack, they crack down. But, under attack, the defenders are forced to crack down on everyone; impacting the previously innocent and creating more revolutionaries.

    Some things never change...

  4. Capitalism run by government and/or corporations through the monopolistic powers of government (corporatism/crony capitalism) really has nothing to do with capitalism. Capitalism is SUPPOSED to be what comes about in a free society and the free choice in all trade and property rights (aka capital). The economy that grows out of Bitcoin will be lightyears closer to the concept of capitalism than our current "system." What we have is a "soft empire," one where the rules and dictates of government are all simply nudges backed by hidden force (not so hidden recently), yet all the incentives are put in place to completely control the population, pretty much the world over. The only power that is really needed is a monopoly power on a paper currency. Its one thing to beat a population into submission. Its far easier to print a trillion dollars and buy that submission.

Good comments btw, we need a "like" button. Its always encouraging to see people who don't scream that ignorant fallacy that somehow capitalism destroyed America. Our corrupt rulers could receive no greater gift than for those who are unhappy with the world incorrectly blame freedom for our problems. Gives me hope to know others can see through the thick, viscous layer of bullshit encompassing the world.

    Bitcoin FTW!!!
